Stephenville, the county seat of Erath County, is a beautiful community affectionately known to residents as the “Cowboy Capital of the World.”
Settled in 1854, Stephenville is a wonderful place to call home. Despite its early hardships (it was located in the heart of Comanche territory), this picturesque city is now home to around 20,000 friendly people. Tarleton State University is also located here, so many students and their parents live nearby.
U.S. Highways 377, 281 and 67 run through Stephenville, providing easy access to neighboring communities. We’re about 70 miles outside of Fort Worth, which means a trip to the city is typically straightforward, as well.
